SITA RAMAM MOVIE REVIEW: Tamil Movie Top -2022
Sita Ramam is a Telugu Romantic period film written and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Dulquer Salmaan forms the main cast with supporting roles of Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna.
It is produced by Vyjayanthi Films and Swapna Cinemas. The film is available in multiple languages and the Tamil Nadu release is produced by Lyca. This review is based on the Tamil dubbed version.
Afreen’s job, played by Rashmika Mandanna, is to write a letter to Sita Lakshmi to her late grandfather before she can get her inheritance. Ram and Sita’s love story unfolds as she travels, setting the stage for this epic romance.
Dulquer Salmaan looks as smart as a lover boy and as strong as a soldier. Mrunal Thakur shines with her innocent, mixed charismatic look. There is a fascinating chemistry between the two characters. Rashmika deserves credit for her decision to take on the role.
The role has limited screen time and is rigid. The film’s cast was the biggest positive, as everyone delivered the mail to the correct address.
The movie is more marketed than its actual location based on the presence of Durk and Munar on screen alone. They elevate the film as a whole because their pairing is so pleasing to the eye. The hilarious scene involving Vennela Kishore and Murali Sharma aptly elicits laughter.
Gautam Menon’s cameo elevates the mood of the scene. The love scenes follow the usual template and we don’t get any fresh ones. Distortion at intervals isn’t much of a stimulus.
Vishal Chandrasekhar really elevates the film with his timely musical cues. Although the song gets in the way of the plot, it grabs our attention with its compelling visuals. P.S. Vinod and Shreyas Krishna have teamed up to create a gorgeous visual.
Although the film required some editing, Venkateshwara Rao did his best to keep the run time short. The art department painstakingly built the interior of the palace to bring the dining table opulence.
The film discusses many controversial topics at its forefront, including religion. The boldness of retelling the Ramayana’s script in a different context is commendable. The visual treatment of scenes involving snow and army backgrounds stands out. The idea behind the script is quirky, but it takes a lot of effort to get it done.
The romance between the two is not as strong as the chemistry. As the film moves towards its poetic climax, it loses all its poetic tendencies as we feel exhausted by the end of the film with its overstretched script and concerns about predictability.
